About

The parish of Dodcott-cum-Wilkesley is the most southerly parish in the county of Cheshire in North West England. It is a rural area with dairy farming being the predominant feature of the landscape. The parish adjoins the county of Shropshire to the west and south and is in the triangle between Whitchurch and Market Drayton in Shropshire and Nantwich in Cheshire. The nearest settlement for shops and services is Audlem to the east which lies on the Shropshire Union Canal. Within the parish are the villages and hamlets of Burleydam, Combermere, Royals Green, Lightwood Green, Wilkesley and Shavington (part). The parish has only 350 names on the electoral register but is the largest parish in Cheshire in terms of area.
